Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr., Hammond Parks & Recreation, are pleased to announce the Festival of the Lakes Fishing Derby. It is scheduled for Saturday 8 a.m. to noon on the shores of Wolf Lake (Indiana side).
The entry fee is a $1 donation to support Wolf Lake Stocking. Children ages 15 and under will receive free fishing equipment, while supplies last. A free kids fishing seminar will be held at 10 a.m.
There will be trophies awarded for the largest catches in two divisions: under 12 and 12 & older. The trophies will be for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for largest bass, walleye and pan fish catch! No boats, please. On shore fishing only.
