Sledding in Northwest Indiana

It can get boring in the winter months in Northwest Indiana. However, we suggest getting out and having some good, clean outdoor fun. Here’s a list of places to go sledding for you winter pleasure.

Lemon Lake County Park – Crown Point – Sledding open Dec. – Mar. when adequate snow base allows. 9am-5pm, No wooden or metal runner sleds allowed, sled Rental available 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Oak Ridge Prairie County Park – Griffith – Sledding open Dec. – Mar. when adequate snow base allows. 9am-5pm, No wooden or metal runner sleds allowed, The gate fee is charged when a gatekeeper is on duty. $5 per vehicle for IN residents or $8 per vehicle for out of state residents, Time: 7 a.m. to sunset daily.   • Indiana Dunes State Park – Chesterton – Adventure seekers can enjoy a thrilling 100-ft ride down Devil’s Slide, the only location where sledding is permitted in the park – right next to a parking lot.
