The Pav is the centerpiece of the revitalization of the Wolf Lake Memorial park area and was built as part of the 31.4 million dollar grant by the RDA. The grant and the Marquette Plan along the shores of Lake Michigan share goals of creating a liveable Lakeshore. This included increased public access and an inter-linking series of trail systems and public use enhancements. It’s home of the infamous Festival of the Lakes held each August; the WHAM! Bike Ride, and the 4th of July Naturalization Ceremony.
With a huge main stage and expansive grass and concrete seating area, the PAV plays host to numerous concerts and special events throughout the year and serves as an entertainment anchor to the region. One of the most notable events is the annual Festival of the Lakes, which sees first-class artists such as Bad Company, The Roots, Nelly, and more, take the main stage!
Just twenty minutes from Chicago’s loop and just off the Chicago Syway and the Indiana Toll Road, the Pav is a state of the art facility. It’s 2,600 square foot main stage and 6,000 square feet of “front stage” with VIP seating of 80,000 square feet of grass seating.
The Pav hosts all kinds of events, concerts, and activities throughout the year. Plus there’s 6.2 miles of paved trails surrounding the lake. It’s the perfect place to launch a boat, go fishing, or just take a walk or just sit and enjoy a quiet sunset after a seasonal picnic.
