NWI Tourism Spots Nominated for “Best In Indiana”

Several Northwest Indiana Tourism Destinations were nominated for “Best of Indiana” recognition, and people had until Oct. 31, 2016 to go online and vote for them.

     The Summer Rhapsody Music Festival in Central Park in Valparaiso was selected in the “Best Indiana Musical Festivals” category. Valparaiso won several categories. In the “Haunted Attractions” category, Taltree’s Haunted Railroad & Fall Festival was nominated. Valpo Velvet, Valparaiso was selected in the “Best Ice Cream Shops.” Popcorn Festival was selected in the “Best Signature Foods.” Galactic Gregs was nominated in the “Toy and Hobby” Category. Taltree was also nominated for “Best Fall Family Fun.” For you dining experience, Wagner Ribs (in Porter, Indiana) was selected for “Best BBQ.” Anderson Winery won in the Category of “Best Winery Experience.”

FOR VISITORS COMING IN THE FALL:  Indiana Dunes and West Beach were nominated for “Best Fall Foliage,” spots. The Summer Rhapsody Music Festival brings music from rock to classical to blues, and is a feast of the sounds and senses for music lovers of all ages. Butler Winery, established in 1983, is the fourth oldest operating winery in Indiana and produces wines of a distinctive character. The vineyards and production facilities are located in Bloomington, Indiana. The Chesterton shop has unique & extensive selection of wine accessories and gifty items that are sure to please.

Shady Creek Winery in Michigan City Features custom crafted wines and a first class facility situated on nearly 20 acres of grounds with expansive views, comfortable patios, covered porches, fireplaces, tasting room, specialty foods, gifts and local artwork. They have a Wine Tasting every weekend.
