George Floyd | BLM Protests Planned in Northwest Indiana

Trying to find the local Protests is very difficult. Even though protesters are required to register in the city where they are planned, it is often a secret where they are to be held. Here’s what we have been able to find:

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Car Protest – Symbolic Funeral Process for Black Lives, July 23rd, 5-8pm, Target Store, St. John, Indiana

PAST EVENTS:

Juneteenth Celebration, June 19th, Marquette Park, Gary, 1pm – 6pm
Juneteenth March, June 19th,  Chesterton, Broadway & Calumet Rd,  5pm
BLM March, June 20th,  Merrillville Police Dept. 2pm,

Black Lives Matter Rally, June 27th, Portage, Noon – 2pm,

BLM Peaceful Protest, June 27th Pheasant Hills Park, Dyer, 1pm

Munster, Indiana, June 2nd Kennedy and Calumet Ave.

Gary, Indiana, Friday, June 5th, Noon, City Hall Plaza

LaPorte Indiana, Friday, June 5th, 4pm – 6pm, Black Lives Matter, East of Courthouse.

Whiting Indiana, Saturday, June 6th,

Hobart, Indiana, Saturday, June 6th, Festival Park, Noon

Hammond, Saturday, June 6th, 8:30 am, City Hall, Pastors and Churches Marching for “United in Prayer”

Hammond, Indiana, Saturday, June 7th, Prayer March, 10am – Noon, Anthem Church

Lake Station, Sunday, June 7th, 5pm, City Hall

Griffith, Indiana, Sunday, June 7th, Noon,  Central Park

East Chicago, Monday June 8th, 11am, 144th & Parish Ave. Washington Park

Hopefully these will all be peaceful protests. These will all be staffed with law enforcement. While the Constitution allows the right of peaceful protest, it does allow local governments to dictate time, manner and place.
