Mark your calendars! Mayor Tom McDermott, Jr. brings 219 Day “Back in Rat” to the Hammond Civic Center on Saturday, February 15th, 2020 from 6:00 pm until midnight with the holiday that is all about ‘da Region. The event boasts free admission with craft beer, food vendors and entertainment exclusively from the 219. This year, the theme of the event is “Year of the Rat,” a take on the Chinese Zodiac Calendar.
Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. and the 219 Day Committee invite all Region residents over 21 years of age to join us for the fun, weird and wacky event that celebrates everything Region, 219 Day. The 219 Day is at the Hammond Civic Center on Saturday, February 15 from 6:00 to 11:00 pm.
The live entertainment includes: One Timer, CoJack and Company and Pearl Jam Tribute Chicago Various Region craft and domestic beers will be available for your enjoyment. Misbeehavin’ Meads from Valparaiso is returning and mixed drinks will be available. There will also be some wine and Pepsi products. Food vendors exclusive to the Region will be on hand as well.
During the event there will be games and competitions that allow Regionites to compete with fun exhibits. Various Region craft and domestic beers will be available for your enjoyment. Food vendors exclusive to the Region will be on hand as well. The festivities end with the Mayor’s reading of the 2020 version of the 219 Day Proclamation.
T-shirts for the event are available for purchase at www.219day.com. This year, there will be two versions available. Both 2019 shirts and past T-shirts will also be available for sale at the event.
When you get there, be sure to sign our “You Know You’re From ‘da Region If…..” board posted all round the Civic Center.
