Wolf Lake Wetlands Bike Ride – Hammond Indiana

More of the Wolf Lake watershed will be used at this year’s 18th annual Wolf Lake Bi-State Wetlands Wind & Water festival on May 29th 2021. The Wetlands Wind & Water Bike Ride begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, at the rear parking lot of Calumet college of St. Joseph, 2400 New York Ave., Whiting, Indiana.  

The bike ride is 20 miles with several stops along the way. Helmets and face masks are required.

Highlights include:
Wolf Lake Pavilion and Park
Amaizo Channel
Eggers Grove
William Powers State Rec Area
Wolf Lake Terminals
Nike Missile Site
Indian Creek
George Lake 

     The Zoom meeting begins at 3 p.m. with a discussion on stories from participants on their personal experiences in the watershed. Their stories will be recorded and will be made available on AWLI’s website.
     Previously, such discussions were recorded at AWLI meetings and now appear in a book on AWLI’s 20 year history, Over the Line. Zoom participants must register online by May 21
