Hard Rock Casino to Open May 14th – Gary Indiana

Rock and Roll is alive and well in Gary Indiana. Gary has been most famous as the home of the Jackson 5 and this May 14th, 2021, open to the public at 5pm, a brand new Hard Rock Casino hopes to re-live that designation.
The $300 million development began construction in January of 2020 and was completed in spite of the pandemic. In addition to a Hard Rock casino, the facility will include a Hard Rock Café, a Hard Rock Live concert venue that seats 1,954 people, 5 food restaurants, a sportsbook and bars on 40 acres. The Closing of Majestic Star Casino brings to the Hard Rock Casino up to 2,100 gaming positions, 80 tables, and 1600 slots.
The five food venues include: Hard Rock Cafe, Council Oak Steaks and Seafood, YouYu Noodle Bar, Fresh Harvest Buffet and a Constant Grind Coffee Shop.
Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana is the only casino with direct freeway access in the Northwest Indiana market. Phase 2 of the project will see the addition of a 200-room hotel and a multi-level parking garage.
As of May 14th, the Hard Rock experience will no longer require a drive to downtown Chicago. This new casino is opening right off the 80/94 Expressway in Gary, Indiana, centrally located between Chicago, St. Louis, Milwaukee and Indianapolis. Autographed guitars and drum heads that line the walls from floor to ceiling please rock n roll fans from every walk of life. A stop at Chicago’s Hard Rock Cafe has been a popular venue for a long time, for tourists traveling to downtown Chicago. Iconic outfits, musical memorabilia and photos of the biggest stars are everywhere.
An executive order from Governor Eric J. Holcomb allowed Spectacle Entertainment LLC, to continue work on the casino, despite the many statewide shutdowns. The agreement was forged by the former Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson.
To celebrate the opening of the casino The Jacksons will have free a one-time performance tentatively scheduled for July 17th at the Gary Chicago Airport.
