State Road 149 To Close Till Mid-June

VALPARAISO | SOUTH HAVEN INDIANA –   State Road 149 from Lenburg Rd/C.R. 1050 N north to Joliet Ave will be closed beginning Monday, April 19 stated the Indiana Department of Transportation.

State Road 149 was closed in this location last year for widening work to take place on the west side of the roadway. The road will be closed again this year for the widening work to take place on the east side, which was previously delayed due to utility relocation issues.  This is an intersection improvement project with added turn lanes and resurfacing.

After the east side of the roadway has been widened, the contractor will work on resurfacing the area, pavement markings, etc. Work is expected to be completed in early-June, 2021.

Drivers should seek an alternate route. The official detour will follow U.S. 20, State Road 49 and U.S. 6. The intersection of Lenburg Rd and State Road 149 will be open for motorists to travel east or west on Lenburg Rd or south on State Road 149.
