        This year, 2021, some events have been cancelled. Below are the July 4th Celebrations in Northwest Indiana, and we will update this page periodically.

     CHESTERTON – Fireworks On The Lakefront, June 30th, 2021
,Indiana Dunes State Park, Chesterton. Local Food, Live Music And A Festive Celebration. Food Vendors Open At 6pm, and Fireworks begin at 9:15pm.      GaryFriday, July 3rd and Sat. July 4th, 2021 – Family Night at the Railcats Stadium, Both nights will feature food, fireworks and live music by NAWTY (July 3) and The Muddsharks (July 4). All You Can Eat, Suite Level, Duggout and Tailgate Viewing options are available! This show will be a socially distanced Red, White and BOOM celebration! Limited tickets are available.    MICHIGAN CITY KIDDIE PARADE:  June 20th, 2021 Registration is that day at Noon at 4th and Washington Street. Always the Last Saturday in June. The parade route will begin at 11:00 with Judging at 1:00 at 7th and Franklin, hosted by the Michigan City Parks & Recreation Dept, 873.1506, www.michigancityparks.com

     PORTAGE:JULY 3rd, 2021  –
Portage July 4th Parade & Festival, This year’s theme, Parade will begin at 11:00 am. Festival will be at Founders Square and will begin at 5:00pm. Food vendors will be there and bands will begin at 6:00 pm and will play until 10:00 pm. Parade starts at Willowcreek Middle school, 6pm, food, live music and fireworks at dusk, free. Click here for more info
A fireworks show will be held at Rohrman Park to celebrate the 4th of July Every year the Schererville Parks and Recreation department hosts a fireworks show at Rohrman Park a few days prior to the 4th of July. The show starts at dusk. Those wishing to attend should try to come early. Bring chairs, blankets, and snacks. In the event the Fireworks show is cancelled due to weather, the time will be changed. 865-5530/ Click here.

     St. John’s Annual Kid’s parade is Saturday before the Festival July 3rd (TBD) 2021 at 9:30 am, at Prairie West Park, located at 93rd and West Oakridge in St. John, You can decorate your own bike, float, wagon wheelchair, scooter, walker and roller blades. Prizes awarded.     SOUTH HAVEN JULY 4TH PARADE: TBD – Not Yet Determined for 2021, The parade will take place on  July 4th at Noon.  Entrants will line-up at Saylor Elementary School (331 Midway Dr., Valparaiso IN  46385) at 11am. The parade route will begin at Saylor Elementary School and head west on Midway Drive to McCool Road, north on McCool Road to 750 N. and west on 750 N. to the American Legion Post (479 W. 750 N, Valparaiso, IN  46385).  The review stand will be located at South Haven Elementary School (395 Midway Dr., Valparaiso, IN  46385).  Refreshments will be served and awards will be presented in the Legion Hall immediately following the parade. Northwest Indiana is home to many Family Fun Amusement Parks and Family Entertainment Centers with lots of things to do with kids that make the perfect the getaway for the weekend!
