This has been a long time coming with construction starting in July 2022 but the new habitats are about 98% completed.
The last minute touches including a few minor painting task, additional climbing decks for the Big Cats and planting projects that will all hopefully be done around May 1st.
The cats have settled in nicely to their new digs and for our visitors we repaved the main pathway leading from the Bengal Tiger habitat all the way to the Grant Zebra for a smooth safari stroll. If you plan to visit the WPZoo in the next couple of weeks, please note that since the weather is still ever changing our tropical species like the tortoises, parrots, alligators, capybara and lemurs are not yet out for viewing.
The train and the main concessions stand are only open on weekends in April and September due to staffing. They are also weather dependent throughout the season.
There are are always plenty of improvements being done all around the Zoo, so stay connected here on Facebook. Please call or email us if you have any questions about open habitats or attractions since things can always change, it’s in our WILD nature. ![]()
