Recession and Paper Increases Challenge PanoramaNOW Magazine

Keeping The PanoramaNOW Website & Magazine Free is Challenging

In today’s economy and recession, we continue to support non-profits, all theatre and all festivals in a time when these same Non-Profits choose to pay Facebook For “Sponsored Ads”! On top of that, there is a 45% increase in paper costs. And, unfortunately, things change. It was recently told to me by a local non-profit company that could not see fit to pay $55 for our color ad in the PanoramaNOW magazine, that we need a new business plan. The $55 dollar advertisement in PanoramaNOW Magazine would have more than paid for two new customers buying tickets to their local entertainment event! Well, we thought about their expert advise, and a new business plan would mean that our content would be based upon payment.

Contrary to popular belief, local tourism bureaus and local web-based companies do not have publishing regulations and they are allowed to charge businesses for their calendar listings, mentions, links and articles. Therefore, for the most part, they only provide content that is paid for. Yes, their articles, their calendar listings and their overall web-based content is paid for. Last year, PanoramaNOW had 315,955 users viewed 1,372,381 pages viewed with 406,645 sessions viewed.

We have always published all festivals, whether they pay or not. We have always published all local theatre, whether they pay or not. We always published all non-profit fundraisers, and going out of our way to make sure they are on the website and also printed in the magazine. We wish to continue this practice because our readers depend upon us. (other local media also count on us as well)  Changing our business plan means changing our content that you all love and cherish.

So, in lieu of charging for our FREE weekly Newsletter; our FREE Website; and our FREE monthly magazine, and our FREE weekly Radio Show, we are asking those of you that have enjoyed Panorama over the past 38 years to donate whatever you deem appropriate.  There is a donate button on every page except the home page, payments go thru paypal, debit card or credit card. Please know that we are capable of keeping track of donations and where they come from. Business and organizations that Donate will receive extra special attention on our website and in print.

Hopefully after this current recession, we can continue to provide you the ALL INSLUSIVE CONTENT that you enjoy and cherish that we have provided for the past 38 years. Please see the “Remittance” Button at the top and the bottom of each page, except the home page. We don’t want to let down some 538,473 Unique Users!
