The season opens on July 18 th, 2026 with a concert is titled “A Sparkling Summer.” The wonderful soprano Emily Yiannias will sing Samuel Barber’s beautiful “Knoxville: Summer of 1915″ on the program which also features music by Bernstein, Howard Hanson, Waldteufel, Strauss, and John Philip Sousa. The music director is Robert Vodnoy. The concert is FREE. ($10 parking)

The Whiting Park Festival Orchestra, conducted by Music Director Robert Vodnoy, is pleased to announce its 2026 Summer Season in Whiting Park. This is the orchestra’s 32nd season in the Park, a magnificent location with beautiful pavilion, spectacular views of Lake Michigan, and great amenities which make concert going a truly first-class experience.
Symphony sponsors for this program are Baran Funeral Home, St. Catherine Hospital. All Concerts Are FREE. For subscriptions ($25 per person and $75 per family) call the Chamber of Commerce at 219-659-0292 or visit 1417 – 119th Street. (Not during Pieorig Fest) Subscriptions provide seating in the reserved area with chairs, parking and use of Hospitality Tent (first come first serve). Parking is $5. Chair Rental Available for $5 a chair, and Table is $10.

Valparaiso’s WVLP Radio Celebrates 20 Years!

A unique group of about thirty local radio broadcasters gathered at the relatively new station’s studio and office location on College Street to celebrate over twenty years of Valparaiso’s own community radio station, WVLP-LP 103.1 FM. WVLP’s radio programs from a cadre of volunteer hosts that feature an eclectic collection of talk, music, local events, art, sports and other topics focused on the Valparaiso community.
