Front Porch Music hosts several concerts a year, usually on Saturday nights at 8:00pm (enter in the rear). They assemble musicians from all over the country that are well known. Their venue is a quaint and non-alcohol where children are welcome. Their concerts range anywhere between $10 a person to $20 a person. Refreshments are available as well.
They have a very friendly staff, and are helpful and knowledgeable.
In addition to concerts, Front Porch Music hosts Open Stages every week that are designed for All Ages, Any Instruments, and all styles of music. A featured artist plays from 7:30 to 8 at each Open Stage and then becomes the host who introduces the other acts and runs sound for them.
Each performer may play 2-3 songs (10-15 minutes). The door opens at 7PM at which time performers may “sign up” to play. Admission is $3.50 for listeners and $2.50 for performers. To Find the Concerts At Front Porch Music, CLICK HERE!
Duesenberg Recital Hall : Valparaiso University
Duesenberg Recital Hall is a 170-seat venue housed at Valparaiso University inside the VU Center for the Arts building. The VUCA functions as a working laboratory for performance, production, presentation, and management for concerts on campus, special events off campus, tours, and recordings. Offering a wide range of opportunities for students in performance and technical support for music and theatre, the Center for the Arts serves as a crossroads of artistic expression. Chicago Street Theatre
Chicago Street Theatre has brought to their stage, many diverse talents as Grammy-nominated country/Americana songwriter Gretchen Peters, Grammy-winning rocker Jim Peterik, legendary bassist/vocalist Kasim Sulton, powerful Chicago singer/songwriter Michael McDermott, blues artist Lou Sampou, Chicago legend Cathy Richardson, and folk legend David Mallet.
In recent years they’ve added rock guitar/vocal legend Derek St. Holmes, hot blues artist Anthony Gomes, world music phenomenon Acoustic Eidolon, international songwriter Jann Klose, and closer to home Chicago’s Mike Aquino and Heather Horton. Central Plaza:
The newest of Valparaiso’s Parks located in downtown Valparaiso offers plenty of space for weddings, group services, special events, entertainment needs and much more. Central Plaza features include the Porter Health Amphitheater and lawn, splash-pad water play area, handicap-accessible restrooms, and a seating capacity of 150. Memorial Opera House:
Built in 1893 as a memorial to Civil War veterans, this historic landmark theatre continues a long tradition of opening its doors to local and national talent. They offer anything from Community theatre productions, special events, live concerts to lunchtime cabarets. The Memorial Opera House is able to accommodate up to 350 people in its beautiful turn of the century auditorium.
