Chicago Street Theatre is proud to present the lineup for its new season in 2026-27. This one should delight movie fans as we head to Hollywood this next year. Each production has a movie connection, either a play later adapted into a movie, a play that had been a movie originally, or in the case of our Studio Diner Theatre show, a play based on a the origin of a famous film.

October 2-18, 2026 “Arsenic and Old Lace,” written by Joseph Kessling. Directed by Piper Bakrevski. Presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
November 27-December 20, 2026 “It’s a Wonderful Life,” Play version adapted by James W. Rodgers. Based on the film by Frank Capra and a story by Phillip Van Doren Stern. Directed by Ashleigh Happer. Presented by arrangement with Dramatic Publishing.
January 29-February 7, 2027 (Studio Diner Theatre) “Matt & Ben”, written by Mindy Kaling and Brenda Withers. Directed by Theresa Haus. Presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
February 26-March 14, 2027 “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” written by Dale Wasserman. Based on the novel by Ken Kesey. Directed by Whitney Perish. Presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
April 16 – May 2, 2027 “Harvey,” written by Mary Chase. Directed by Allison Granat. Presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
April 17- May 2, 2027 “Charlotte’s Web,” adapted by Joseph Robinette. Based on the book by E.B. White. Directed by Dona Henry and Arlene Hinkle. Presented by arrangement with Dramatic Publishing.
June 25 – July 18, 2027 “Cry-Baby: The Musical,” book by Mark O’Donnel and Thomas Meehan. Music by Adam Schlesinger. Lyrics by David Javerbaum. Based on the 1990 film by John Waters. Directed by Michael Glorioso. Presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International. Tickets sales for all shows will be announced at a later date.
