Swale Music Fest Returns to Michigan City, Indiana

The Michigan City Mainstreet Association is excited to announce the second annual Swale Music Festival at Charles R. Westcott Park – located at 400 E. Michigan Blvd. in Michigan City, IN.
The festival takes place on Saturday, June 8, 2019. Gates open at 1:00 p.m. and music takes place from 1:15 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. (CDT)
This unique and diverse festival boasts a lineup of over 25 local, regional, and national acts. In addition to these musical performers, Swale will feature craft beer from Michigan City’s local breweries – Burn ‘Em Brewing, Shoreline Brewery, and Zorn Brew Works Co.

As well as wine and food vendors. Local artists, vendors, and nonprofits will also be on site to exhibit their works, display their wares and discuss their ideas with the public.
Swale promises an impressive collection of new, up-and-coming, and established musical performers. The event boasts an assortment of musical styles that concert goers would be hard pressed to find at any other venue this festival season.
Swale Music Fest Committee Chair and MCMA Vice President Shane Watson, said of the event, “MCMA strives to bring positive, invigorating and truly unique experiences to residents and visitors of Michigan City alike. Swale serves to mimic the spirit of Michigan’s City’s Uptown Arts District by bringing a collection of performers and genres that underscore the importance of art and diversity, while simultaneously embracing the performance as spectacle. I cannot wait.”
Local acts include The Pinola Plowboys, Andrew Fischer Quartet, and co-headliner Cloakroom, who have released two critically acclaimed albums and show no signs of slowing down.
Regional acts such as Glitter Moneyyy, Jordanna, and veteran of the Indianapolis hip-hop scene, Sirius Blvck, are all scheduled to appear. Online tickets are currently on sale for $15.00 (after fee) at swalemusic.com and eventbrite.com.
Physical tickets are available at The Nest, located at 803 Franklin St. Michigan City, IN 46360. Tickets will be available at the gate the day of the event for $20.00. Swale is an all-ages event, but after 6:00 p.m. parental discretion is advised as artists may have explicit lyrics.
