Due to the current government shutdown, you may have questions about their services. During the shutdown the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as it always is. However, there will be no visitor services, scheduled programs or events. All offices and contact stations will be closed, and parking lots may be closed due to lack of snow removal. Hazardous or dangerous conditions may exist. The Indiana Dunes Visitor Center will remain open, while partner’s staff conduct their usual business, but park staff will not be present. Emergency information may or may not be shared through the park’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. In case of emergency, visitors to the park should call 911 or 219-395-1077 for park dispatch.
