The annual Michigan City tradition of the “Pink Tea” will be held at 3 p.m. June 25 or 26 in the historic Barker Mansion gardens.
The menu includes bite-sized sandwiches, fruit, desserts, and tea. Following the tea service, Gregg Hertzlieb of Valparaiso University’s Brauer Museum will introduce guests to the work of Frank Dudley. Dudley painted the nearby dunes during the time of Catherine Barker. Also new this year, the occasion will include a self-guided first floor tour of the mansion following the event.
The teas are held under the mansion’s outdoor pergola and will feature food from the Duneland Beach Inn, new this year.Guests are encouraged, but not required, to wear their best tea attire including fancy hats.
Advance registration and payment of $32 per adult or $28 per youth (ages 17 and under) is required. Groups can reserve a table of six for $180. Walk-ins will not be accepted. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pink-tea-in-the-garden-tickets-25618937933.
