Hoof and Tail Adoption Event – August 27th

With a goal of 100 adoptions, Humane Society Calumet Area (HSCA) will head to the farm on Aug. 27 for the second annual  Hoof and Tail Adoption Event.

The mega adoption event will feature animals with hooves and paws available for adoption from noon to 4 p.m. at Happy Note Farm, 10623 Cline Ave., Crown Point, Ind. Participating organizations include Alsip to the Rescue, CPR Fund, Hooved Animal Humane Society, HSCA and Lakeshore PAWS.

Made possible through grant funding from the Crown Point Community Foundation, the event also will include a farmers’ market, a dog scavenger hunt where dogs can search for treats and prizes, a corn roast and live music from Bourbon Aristocracy.

HSCA’s Estelle Marcus Animal Clinic will offer nail clipping and pet care and wellness information will be available for the public. Attendees also will have the chance to meet ambassador animals from HSCA’s Moraine Ridge Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and learn more about wildlife rehabilitation and humane interaction with native wildlife and the environment.

Each dog or cat adopted at the event will be sent to his or her new home with an adoption pack—including toys, treats, a bandana, and a leash and collar for dogs or a temporary carrier for cats.

HSCA’s Adoption Center at 421 45th Ave, Munster, will be closed Aug. 27 for this special adoption event. For more information, visit www.hscalumet.org or contact Mari Angotti at (219) 513-8911 or mangotti@hscalumet.org.
