The Miller Beach Arts & Creative District presents Not Fade Away: Music Photography by Bobby Talamine from August 4 through August 27, 2017 at the Marshall J. Gardner Center for the Arts in the Miller Beach section of Gary, IN. The exhibit will open with a reception on Friday August 4 from 6-9pm, and will run weekends through Sunday August 27.
Bobby Talamine has been photographing music legends and new upcoming musicians for over three decades. The Chesterton resident estimates he has photographed over 3500 artists. More than 50 framed photographs of Talamine’s concert photography will be on display. Talamine’s tastes are eclectic and range from rock n’ roll giants like Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, and Paul McCartney to Tool, SLIPKNOT, The Pet Shop Boys and Johnny Cash.
Talamine states, “My love of photography and music came together in my early teens. The first concert I ever photographed was Led Zeppelin in 1975. I’m a self-taught photographer, my love of music drove me to continually improve my image making. I didn’t know anyone in the music business. I simply had the determination to capture the energy and excitement of hearing and seeing the best music from the best musicians. Many of the artists I photographed and included in this exhibit are now deceased, such as Jerry Garcia, Johnny Cash and David Bowie.”
Talamine will be present at the opening reception to answer questions. All the framed photographs are for sale.
Weekends starting Friday, August 4 until Sunday August 27 at the Marshall J. Gardner Center for the Arts, 540 S. Lake St., Gary, IN.. Gallery hours are Fridays and Saturdays 6-9pm and Sundays 1-4pm. Opening reception is Friday August 4th 6pm.
