Prepare for a spooky Halloween at Indiana Dunes National Park’s Paul H. Douglas Center! In the spirit of Halloween, learn about spiders and other creepy crawlies of the animal world with Jim Louderman, entomologist at the Field Museum from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Douglas Center. At 2:00 pm, Kim Hoover of “Hoots to Howls” rehabilitation center, will be bringing some live owls currently under their care. Follow up your day with a short night hike on the Douglas trail outside the center from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
The Paul H Douglas Center for Environmental Education is located in the western portion of the national lakeshore at 100 North Lake Street, about one mile north of U.S. Highway 12 in the Miller neighborhood of Gary.
