Door Village Harvest Festival

The Door Village Harvest Festival celebrates its 25th year! The festival will be held at Scipio Township Park on Joliet Road in Door Village, Indiana on Saturday September 9, 2017 from 7:30 to 5:00 and again on Sunday September 10, 2017 from 9:00 to 4:00 P.M. This is a Historical festival, something that you don’t see very often, which is part of the Festival’s appeal.

Planning for the festival began back in 1990 following the closing of the Scipio Township School in Door Village after 150 years on the same location. Following the demolition of the school’s building, a township park was soon developed.  The festival was then started by a small group of dedicated citizens as a tribute to the historic Door Village community with all profits going to the park.

The Festival is FREE to the public, however, there is a $3.00 Parking Fee to help cover our many expenses and raise money to help develop and maintain the community park.

Events include a Civil War Camp, Pioneer Village, Indian Camp, Blue Spruce Alpacas, Historical Horse and Wagon Tours, Living Cemetery Tour (only on Sunday), 1832 Settler Camp, Native American Indian Camp, Quilters, Collectors, Craft Demonstrations, Antique Vehicles (autos, trucks, tractors), and much more.  Other attractions include: Antique Autos, Trucks, and Tractors display, Grandpa’s Woodshed and Barnyard, Grandma’s Parlor, Blue Spruce Alpacas, children’s games and face painting by Clowning Attractions.

Musical entertainment includes Phil & Dustin Anderson, Homemade Jamm, Rusty Strings, Folk Grass, and the Good Timing Barbershop Quartet. New this year are the the Diamond Martial Artists demonstrations.

If you love good food, Saturday morning will have the Pancake, French Toast and eggs breakfast with chicken and noodles and ham and beans for lunch. Sunday is the famous pork chop dinner. There will be a variety of food vendors, too, throughout the weekend.
There will be more than 25 craft booths with a variety of quality products for sale, too. As always there is something fun for everyone!
