Mind Benders Puzzles & Games is celebrating 10 years of challenging minds, inspiring creativity, and introducing customers to new hobbies, award-winning games, and unique puzzles.
Their key to success is that they don’t follow trends— they start them. Their business has always been built on personal service and carefully choosing unique, exciting products that you won’t typically find in a big-box store. Many of the items they carry today may not be seen in larger retailers for years.
They enjoy hearing customers tell us they’ve traveled from far away to visit us because they’ve outgrown their local toy store. That’s not the case at Mind Benders— they’re a store for all ages, with something for everyone, from young children discovering the joy of play to adults looking for challenging puzzles, games, hobbies, and something new to enjoy.
That’s what makes Mind Benders special. There’s something here for the whole family, regardless of age.
But they’re not just a store. They’re part of the community.
Over the years, you may have seen us at events throughout Northwest Indiana, including National Night Out, 219 Day, schools, libraries, churches, community events, and gatherings throughout Hammond, Highland, Munster, East Chicago, Chicago, and, of course, their hometown of Whiting.
They have also hosted a variety of events both in their store and around town, including puzzle competitions, Scout gatherings, arts and crafts events, escape room experiences, and the Adult Beverage Holiday Spirits Walk. These events have given us the opportunity to bring people together, introduce them to new experiences, and, most importantly, have fun!
Along the way, they’ve met so many wonderful customers who have become more than customers— they truly feel that many have become friends.
After 10 years, they are incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported us, shared a laugh with us, discovered a new hobby with us, or simply stopped in to say hello.
It’s not just a store. It’s a place where generations come together, new hobbies begin, friendships grow, and memories are made.
