The winter blue’s got you down, Shake it off and come visit your park friends. Let this be an invitation to bundle up and grab the whole family; we promise it will be an explorative morning with the wonders of nature and the wildlife. So come visit inside the nature center and all of its creatures. Bring the family to relax, enjoy nature, and have continental breakfast on us while strolling through this natural setting from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Luhr Park.
Get ready for a hands-on encounter with the natural world at our Nature Center nestled in the woods at Luhr County Park. Stroll along our displays, try your hands at our animal tracks station, gaze into the eyes of a great horned owl, look through the glass case at one of the three turtles on display, watch for the feathered friends and squirrels in our Wildlife Viewing Area and enjoy your breakfast treats while watching our furry animals grab a bite at their feeding stations.
Want to explore on your own? There is native wildlife inhabiting our woods along our scenic hiking trails embarked from the Nature Center. We offer four significant ecosystems; upland forest, prairie, wetlands, and pond. Any family members playing Pokémon, Luhr Park is home to two Poké spots and two gyms. It’s all here, come explore our recreation opportunities.
This is the perfect time to plan family time outside. We are all far to restless to be indoors and the kids need an outlet for all their stored up energy. Especially now during the cold winter months that keep us captive a lot of the times. So we will see you Saturday at Luhr County Park from 9:30 – 11;00 a.m.
