**** Recommended **** Black Ensemble Theater is celebrating the 40th Anniversary Season with a remount of some hits from the past. They’re starting the season with “Doo Wop Shoo Bop” and “Those Sensational Soulful ‘60s”, two fabulous musical reviews, running in repertory. “Doo Wop Shoo Bop” is a tribute to our favorite Chicago Doo Wop groups of the ‘50s. This is what Black Ensemble does best and I give it 4 Spotlights.
“Doo Wop Shoo Bop” runs through March 20th in repertory with “Those Sensational Soulful ‘60s” at Black Ensemble Theater Cultural Center, 4450 N. Clark, Chicago. Running time is 2 hours with an intermission. Performances are Fridays at 8:00; Saturdays and Sundays at 3:00. Tickets range from $55-$65.
