Yats is a local Cajun Creole restaurant recently opened in Valparaiso, Indiana. Yats’ food is New Orleans inspired stews and sauces that are deeply satisfying and served over a bed of rice with Cajun buttered bread. Their food is New Orleans inspired sauces that are deeply satisfying with a touch of spice.
All of their dishes are served over rice, plus you get a side of their toasted Cajun buttered bread! Their menu also offers Vegetarian entrees and sauces that are gluten and dairy free.
The bar features several favorite bottled beers and drafts from their unique “Bottoms Up” tap. Their unique drafting system has a method of entering through the bottom of the cup – that has a hole in it. Then, there’s a magnet that keeps the beer in the cup! The magnets make great take-away souvenirs and great conversation pieces!

Owned and operated by Kevin Pedersen and managed by Robin Coe (brother and sister), Kevin was a 20 year veteran cooking at Strongbow Inn in Valparaiso, and was also owner of KP’s catering business which served pig roasts and outdoor parties. Yats in Valparaiso is one of the first franchise outlets for the Indianapolis based chain launched in Indianapolis, Indiana.
