Winter Wonderland Festival at Wolf Lake

Sponsored by the Association for the Wolf Lake Initiative (AWLI), the festival will be held at the Environmental Education Center, 2405 Calumet Avenue, Hammond from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Afternoon events will begin at 1 p.m. at the William W. Powers State Recreation Area, 12949 Avenue O, Chicago. Discussions will allow community residents and local and state agency representatives to share knowledge, discuss options, and then plan actions. Ice skating will be available, weather permitting. Skaters must bring their own skates.

AWLI is a bi-state not-for-profit organization and land trust seeking to protect and enhance the Wolf Lake. Possible causes of death for more than 30 mute swans at George Lake in December will be discussed at the

18th annual Winter Wonderland at Wolf Lake on Saturday, January 19.
