The Whiting Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce is providing a new twist to its annual Easter Peeps Diorama contest as this year’s competition moves online. The Peeps contest revolves around creating a 3-D diorama using the colorful candy marshmallow Peeps. The Peeps contest is open to everyone in Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.
There are three Peeps competition categories: Children – ages 12 and under, Teens – ages 13 – 18, and Adults – ages 19 and up. Winners will be determined by popular votes online on their Facebook Page! The entry with the most votes in each age category will be deemed the winner, or more aptly, the “Peeples Choice”. The winners in each category will receive gift cards to local businesses.
To enter the Peeps contest, contestants are asked to follow these simple guidelines:
1. To create your diorama, think of a scene starring your Peeps. For example, let’s say “a day in the park”, “life at the beach”, “playing baseball”, “life on the moon”, you get the idea.
2. Mold and shape the Peeps to bring your scene to life. It’s that easy.
When finished, capture a photo of your completed Peeps diorama and submit it by way of Facebook and include a direct message to the Whiting Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce. You can also submit your Peeps entry by way of email to email@example.com. Each entry should include the artists name, age, address, city, state and zip code along with a phone number and e-mail address. The deadline for entries is Friday, April 3, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. local time.
The posts will be uploaded to the chamber’s Facebook page by Monday, April 6, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Here friends and family can vote for the Peeps diorama they feel is the most creative. The leading vote getter in each category will be deemed the winner. Voting ends on Friday, April 10, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. The winner for each category will be announced at 5:00 p.m. that same day.
