Where to Go For Christmas Lights

     Seems like the one thing popular this year during the Pandemic is to go see Christmas lights from the safety of your own car. We’ve compiled a list of Very Popular places for you to enjoy in the Northwest Indiana Region.
     Folks are wanting to celebrate the season and give their families the joy of the season, and seeing Christmas lights is a growing activity.

 

CEDAR LAKE: 
     The “Symphony of Lights Display” Open Fri., Sat and Sun From Nov 27th thru Jan 3rd. $10 per car, Cedar Lake Ministires,  219-374-5941.
     “Wonderland of Lighted Christmas,” Downtown Mainstreet, cash prizes awarded, hosted by the Cedar Lake Chamber of Commerce.

CHESTERTON:
     Bozak Family Light Show, Burns Harbor, 
Lights come on 11/27 @ 4:30pm for the first time of 2020! This is a FREE Christmas light show. There are multiple songs and the lights are computer programmed to dance to the music. Tune your car radio to 92.5fm. 259 Lake Park Rd., Burns Harbor (off Highway 20)

CROWN POINT:
     Holton Ridge west of Crown Point Square. Is renamed as Candy Cane Lane at Christmas time, whole group of houses are lighted up.
   Tour of Lights – December 12th – 27th The Tour of Lights event will be self-guided this year due to COVID restrictions.  Homes that would like to participate can call 219-662-3290 to sign up. Residents will be able to vote for their favorite house and view the map of all the decorated homes signed up beginning Saturday, December 12th on our website www.crownpoint.in.gov. The winner will be announced at the January City Council Meeting on January 4th at 7pm.

DYER:
     Magical LIghts Show, 
Enjoy the Magical Light Show. When parking please turn off headlights (you can also park in Stardust parking north side). The light show is best seen without any other lights. HAMMOND:
     “Christmas on the Beech,” Homeownere want to spread the Christmas spirit! Everyone is welcome to take pictures with their children while they enjoy their decorations! 7551 Beech Ave, Hammond, They have their own Facebook Page. Note – Peteyville is cancelled this year.

GRIFFITH:
     502 S. Rensselaer, Begins November 23 and runs 5:00pm – 10:00pm nightly. Feel free to walk around on the sidewalk and up to the garage. Decorated front, side, and a North Pole scene in garage.

HIGHLAND:

     “Lana’s Land of Christmas.” 3105 Highway Ave., Facebook Display goes on Thanksgiving night at 5pm,  It is more of a traditional display with some DIY, tweaking of decorations, and our arch way with 4200 lights, Open thru Jan 3rd.

    “The Werner Christmas Wonderland,” 9108 Morton St. Merrillville,In 46410. Hours 5-12 every night. Thanksgiving- New Years Day. Follow all for updates and special appearances. Christmas lights for people to come enjoy!! I will continue to do this as long as I can. The lights will start Thanksgiving night and will be in nightly through New Years Eve from 5pm to Midnight. MICHIGAN CITY:

     “Bozman Delightful Christmas,” There’s some new additions to the 2020 light show. There are new Handpainted scenes this year. Thanks to Jamie from Jamie’s Custom Tattoos he hand painted all my wood displays. He does awesome work. So come take a drive by check it out. It’s at 6440 Gaywood Ave Portage In .      Shorewood: Christmas lights. “We invite everyone to drive down Dorchester Blvd, (and the cul-de-sacs) in Shorewood.” We are looking more like Candy Cane Lane each day. Hope to see you driving through at night.

RENSSELAR,INDIANA

ST JOHN:
     Festival of Lights, this is a walking tour of trees in the Park, vote on your favorite tree, held at Prairie West Park, 93rd Ave and W. Oakridge Dr., hosted by parks and rec. The usual fireworks, train and snack shop, and visits with Santa will not be available this year. Santa on Select Tues and Thurs, with appt suggested. click here.
    Red Lily way Christmas Light Show: From Thursday November 26, 2020 through Friday January 1 2021, the 2020 Red Lily Way Christmas Light Show will run daily from 4:15 pm to 10:15 pm. First show starts at 4:40pm and the last show ends just before 10:00pm . Run time for each show is approximately 45 minutes.
