Welcome to the Combat #1 Flying Contest & RC Airplane Swap Meet at Rainford Field — a full day dedicated to the excitement, skill, and community of radio-controlled aviation enthusiasts.
Whether you are an experienced RC pilot, a hobbyist looking to expand your collection, or someone simply curious about the world of RC aircraft, this event offers something for everyone. Guests will have the opportunity to witness thrilling aerial combat competitions where members of the Midwest Sundowners RC Flying Club demonstrate precision flying, strategy, and fast-paced maneuvering in friendly competitive matches.
In addition to the combat flying events, attendees can explore the RC Airplane Swap Meet, featuring a wide variety of used airplanes, replacement parts, accessories, and hobby equipment. It’s an excellent opportunity to buy, sell, trade, or simply browse unique RC aircraft and connect with fellow enthusiasts who share a passion for aviation and model flying.
The event is designed to be welcoming for beginners as well. From 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, visitors can participate in Trainer Flights and experience flying an RC airplane firsthand under the guidance of experienced club members. It’s a great chance to learn what it feels like to pilot an aircraft and discover the benefits of joining a local flying club.
Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy:
