Valpo Parks Announces Fitness Programs for Adults

Valpo Parks is offering a variety of adult fitness programs that are designed to engage adults at any fitness level.   Choose from dance lessons, Yoga, T’ai Chi, or X-Your Size interval and resistance training. 

Dance lessons include sessions on slow dance, Latin dance, wedding dance, and a New Year’s review.  Sessions begin as early as February with additional sessions beginning in April, June, July, and October.  Classes are offered on Monday evenings 6:15-7:30 p.m. at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Valparaiso.  Fees are $78/$90 per couple or $43/$55 per individual per each six-week session.

Yoga in studio begins March 6 with additional sessions beginning in April, May and September.  Classes are offered on Monday evenings 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Banta Activity Center.  Yoga in the park is offered in July and August and meets Monday evenings 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Ogden Gardens.  Fees are $40/$52 per each four-week session.  Sessions are open to all levels.

T’ai Chi for Health begins February 1 with additional sessions beginning in March, August, and October.  Classes meet on Wednesdays 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Banta Activity Center.  Fees are only $10 for Banta members and $20 for non-Banta members per each eight-week session.

X-Your Size Fitness is open to ages 15 and up and is for any fitness level.  Led by a Certified Personal Trainer, each five-week session will include a variety of exercises integrating both interval and resistance training.  Sessions begin in March.  Fee is $75 per session.
