Valpo Creates Announces A Busy Schedule for 2024

Valparaiso Creative Council has some major announcements and opportunities for 2024!

To provide opportunities to meet and network Valpo Creates is hosting  quarterly artist receptions combined with a little bit of innovative flavor! Join them for our first of four sessions made possible by the IAC Convergence Grant:

Art + Innovation – 4 times a year: 
“Comparative Works of Brush + Lens”
Thursday, March 14th 4:30-6:30p
Roots Cafe to start – Lower Lincoln to end

Featured speakers: Chuck + Alison Scates, owners of Fluid Coffee

     This synergistic event provides an Artist Meet and Greet! Bites to Eat! Live Music! Live Artist! Champagne! Innovative Speakers! Networking! 
     This event will kick-off at Roots Cafe with a meet and greet of artists, bites to eat, musical performance by Andre Detti, and an infusion of originality that only creators can get away with. It’ll then meander to Lower Lincoln where creativity takes center stage! One of the featured artists’, Maria Overlay, will paint live for attendees, champagne will be poured, community members will mingle, and a surprise guest speaker will turn on the LIGHT of innovation. Join us in this inventive networking event where ART takes the floor, grabs the mic, and gets down to business in Valpo.

Sip + Social Speakeasy – 4/24/24:

  • Have you heard about our swanky elite Speakeasy yet? This is a night to dress to the nines in official 1920’s high-fashion where interactive art will greet you at the door. In partnership with Memorial Opera House, local musicians, and specialized talent, this is an immersive experience not to be missed. You’ll be ushered through a backdrop of theatrical performances, rare talent on display, and meander through even more unexpected twists and turns where glitz, glamor, pearls, and curls are all a part of the flapper frenzy. Tickets are $75.

  • Join us for this epic and first-ever sculpture reveal!
    • June 20th, 4:30-6:30p
    • Flounder and Friends Skatepark
    • Featuring Chad Copeland’s custom monumental piece entitled “Ellipse”
    • This is a celebration of the success of our #ARTinthePark campaign thanking donors and matching from the IHCDA which helped us raise #90kin90days

  • Congratulations to the following muralists who have been selected for our week-long celebration of outdoor monumental art taking place August 24-31 at three locations in downtown Valparaiso:
