“We have been promoting Car shows for 30 years,” stated owner Mario Alvarez. “For the last fivew years, we have operated the Valpo Free car Show & Swap Meet in the spring and Fall. We are anticipating about 200 – 400 cars.

After talking with several car owners, Mario discovered that car owners believe the car shows are too expensive to enter, and don’t give out enough awards and drag on too long. That’s when Mario decided to make it free to show or sell your car. “There will be 53 award categories and the awards are announced at 2pm,” continued Alvarez.

There will also be 4-5 food vendors selling hot dogs, hamburgers, funnel cakes and other types of foods and refreshments.
The Car Show will also improve on the Awards that are given out. They have discovered some beautiful, new, laser engraved plaques for the winners this year. There will be a Best of Show, Best Engine, Best Paint categories with an additional 50 awards.
Mario started this as a hobby due to his own 1962 Chevy and a 1964 Impala. For more information log on to www.valpofreecarshows.com
