Theatre at the Center provides professional, live stage plays and musicals, combining Broadway-quality productions within an intimate playing space.
In an effort to bring in new patrons of all ages, they offer an exceptionally entertaining Special Events series which presents concerts, comedy acts, behind the scenes events and children’s productions – making truly memorable audience experiences.
Their Mainstage season offers five productions annually. Their shows regularly feature Equity actors and top-tier directors and designers who have worked on Broadway, as well as the most prestigious Chicago and regional theatres. Many of their productions have also been recommended by the Jeff Awards, celebrating excellence in Chicago theatre, for their annual season awards.
Making live theatre available for all audiences is one of TATC’s top priorities. Exposing children to live theatre at an early age helps build awareness and appreciation for the arts, as live theatrical events nurture creativity and imagination. TATC’s Theatre for Young Audiences presents their productions annually. Their Outreach Series removes these obstacles by bringing educational theatre presentations to the schools.
Additionally, their classes and workshops provide students of all ages with a positive environment to explore the world around them through theatre. Children have fun with creative expression while building self-esteem and learn how to expand their communication and creative problem solving skills.
TATC also offers special group rates that can be combined with sumptuous meals. The theatre is handicapped accessible and special hearing devices are available. No need to travel to the city for high quality live professional theatre. TATC offers top-tier performances by the nation’s best performers right here in Northwest Indiana, has FREE parking, comfortably seats just over 400 patrons – and at only 7 rows deep – there isn’t a bad seat in the house!
