Theater Wit’s “The New Sincerity” was disappointing

*** Recommended *** I was kind of disappointed with “The New Sincerity”.  Although the cast did a good job, I thought the story took itself way too seriously.   I couldn’t relate to the selfish, shallow and rather smug characters, probably because I don’t have anything in common with them.  There were some funny bits to relieve the tension, but just not enough.  I give “The New Sincerity” 3 Spotlights.

“The New Sincerity” runs through April 17th at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont, Chicago.  Running time is 1 hour, 30 minutes, no intermission.  Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm, Sundays at 2:00.  Tickets range from $12-$36.  Valet parking is available.  FYI (773) 975-8150 or www.theaterwit.org.
