Taltree is home to 112 unique oak taxa–one of the most diverse oak collections in the nation. The centerpieces of the collection are the Bur Oaks. Other North American, Asian and European species can be seen in the Oak Islands exhibit area.
Their most intricate formal garden is the Taltree Railway Garden. This garden features model steam trains in a miniature conifer and woody plant landscape. The garden tells the story of early 19th century U.S. railroad history featuring scenes of the Civil War, westward expansion and the American Industrial Revolution.

Taltree has partnered with Cabela’s for a Winter Sports Expo to take place at Taltree on Saturday, February 4th from 10am-3pm. Cabela’s will provide snowshoe demonstrations and informative booths on ice fishing and staying warm outdoors. The Izaak Walton League will also host a booth with a wildlife exhibit. This event is free with admission.
