Mercury MaryPoppins arrival

Take Your Children to see “Mary Poppins” at the Mercury Theater Chicago

*** Recommended *** There’s a new “Mary Poppins” in town and she’s dispensing “A Spoon Full of Sugar” to audiences at the Mercury Theater Chicago.  “Mary Poppins” is a wonderful family-oriented musical.  While this is not a “practically perfect” production, it is still a good choice to introduce children to live theater.  I give it 3 Spotlights.

Children must be at least six years old to attend a performance of “Mary Poppins”.

“Mary Poppins” runs through May 28th at the Mercury Theater Chicago, 3745 N. Southport Avenue, Chicago.  Running time is 2 hours, 25 minutes, with an intermission.  Performances are Wednesday through Friday at 7:30 pm; Saturday at 3:00 and 7:30 pm; and Sunday at 1:00 and 6:00 pm.  Tickets range from $30-$65.  Valet parking is available.  Since the Mercury is very close to Wrigleyville, and baseball season has started, street parking will be expensive and hard to find.  FYI (773) 325-1700 or www.mercurytheaterchicago.com.
