**** Recommended **** Have you ever imagined yourself going into the bar “Where everybody knows your name?” Do you know all the words to the iconic theme song? Guess what? You can spend a nostalgic evening with Sam, Diane, Coach and Carla at the Broadway Playhouse, right here in Chicago. “Cheers Live On Stage” isn’t the best play I’ve ever seen but it’s sweet, genuine and true to the “Cheers” legacy. My friends and I thought it was a lot of fun, so I give “Cheers Live On Stage” 3 ½ Spotlights.
“Cheers Live On Stage” runs through October 23rd at Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place, 175 E. Chestnut, Chicago. Running time is 2 hours, 10 minutes, with an intermission. Performances are Tuesdays through Fridays at 7:30 pm; Saturdays at 2:00 and 8:00 pm; and Sundays at 2:00 and 7:30 pm. Tickets range from $35-$72. Parking is available at a discounted rate in the Water Tower Place garage. Be sure and get a voucher from one of the ushers.
