Home of the infamous Pierogi Fest, Whiting Indiana has an enhanced the quality of life that should be envied by everyone. Whiting has an Easter parade, a July 4th parade, a Pierogi Fest parade and the Holiday Illuminated parade. Families from the East Side, South Chicago, and Hammond flock to Downtown Whiting on the weekends, cause there’s always something going on, not to mention the many downtown restaurants and shops.
