Puppy Love: Signs That Prove Your Dog Loves You

Puppy Love: Signs That Prove Your Dog Loves You

At some point, every pet owner wonders whether their beloved furry baby loves them. While canines can’t verbalize their adoration, there are plenty of signs that prove your dog loves you. Learn to read your pup’s body language and other cues that reveal how much it cares.

It Greets You

Maybe you were gone for an eight-hour shift at work, or maybe you stepped out for a few minutes to grab the mail. Regardless of why you were gone, if your pooch comes running to you and does the happy dance, then it’s thrilled you’re back. A dog that is always delighted to see you is also one that loves you.

It Has Happy Barks

To some, all barks sound the same, but that isn’t the case. By listening carefully and understanding what barks mean, you can notice a distinct difference between each one. For example, a happy bark tends to have a higher pitch and be more frequent. Similarly, a playful bark sounds a bit like a rumble or whine but has a small “harr-ruff” intermixed.

Its Sleeping Habits

The way your dog sleeps says a lot more than you’d think. First, the position it’s in often reveals how it feels about its environment. If your dog trusts you, then it may sleep on its back with its belly exposed. Likewise, a happy pooch always wants to cuddle with its pack leader, and that’s you!

It Follows You

You’re not just the alpha of your dog’s pack; you’re also its world. If your canine loves you, then chances are it wants to tag along with you, whether you’re going to the bathroom or lounging on the sofa. While some dogs don’t follow their owners around, they show their love by checking on their human companions. In the canine world, pack members always look out for one another!

Other Ways Dogs Show Love

Like people, all dogs have different love languages, so the way one pooch may show its love differs from another. According to veterinarians and other canine experts, our furry companies also show their love by:

  • Bringing you their toys.
  • Guarding you while you eat.
  • Rubbing their face on you.

But dogs also show their love through acts of service. Whether you’re upset after a long day or stressed from the hustle and bustle of life, your dog can likely sense it. Canines have an incredible sense of smell, and those that are fully devoted to their owners may even display empathy.

Whether your dog showers you in slobbery kisses or offers up its favorite toy, it’s trying to brighten your day. Both are signs that prove your dog loves you, as nothing quite says so like a display of empathy.
