Effective Today, you can now sign Up to Get Porter County Travel Alerts and Road Conditions via cell phone text message or email from the Porter County Website.
The updates include current road conditions during snow and ice event and the steps that the Porter County Highway is taking to address the conditions. The updates are provided every three or four hours as long as the snow or ice event continues.
These road condition reports only apply to the roads maintained by the Porter County Highway Department. Porter County Highway Department is responsible for streets and roads in UNINCORPORATED Porter County. Unincorporated means outside the municipal boundaries of our cities and towns. State Roads and US Highways are also excluded as they are maintained by the Indiana Department of Transportation.
Up until now, these updates have been posted on Facebook only. That’s about to change.
