Portage Summer Music Fest July 1st

Enjoy  a fabulous variety of FREE live musical entertainment– right here in Portage, Indiana! Come on down to a rockin’ summer music fest, outdoors at Founders Square Park!  Diamond & Elvis, dec8de, and Nicole Jamrose Band will be performing on Sunday, July 1, 2018, between 3:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., at  the Indiana American Water Company Pavilion at Founders Square Park.    Part of the Portage 2018 Summer Music Series, Founders Square concert fests are held the first Sunday through September! Indiana American Water Company Pavilion at Founders Square Park is located on the north side of the new Portage Fire Station #3 at 6300 Central Avenue, in Portage.

First up, a fantastic Diamond & Elvis tribute show! Performing over 100 shows a year, Joe “Neil” Zirconia sparkles as legendary Neil Diamond, with Joe’s inimitable high-energy cover renditions of songs from one of the greatest singer/songwriters of our time!  And  ever-popular Dave “ELVIS” Thomas, performing as legendary Elvis Presley for three decades, including appearances at large fests and venues like Six Flags,  really gets show-goers happily “all shook up” with the look, the sound, and the songs of the King of rock n’ roll.  A real blast from the past, and a chance to dance and sing along!

Chicago-based dec8de (pronounced: decade) is one of the Chicago area’s premier cover bands, paying homage to the first wave of Alternative bands of the early 1980’s to early 1990’s. Delivering an enthusiastic and energetic show, dec8de draws their material from synth-based and guitar-driven bands that helped define the genres known as “Alternative,” “Post Modern,” “New-Wave,” and “Brit-Pop” music. Members of dec8de have performed on premier stages throughout Chicagoland including: Cubby Bear, Metro, Durty Nellie’s, Penny Road Pub, Double Door, and House of Blues. Playing a wide variety of songs from one-hit wonders and now major artists like U2, R.E.M., Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, The Cure, The Smiths, New Order and more, dec8de delivers the Classic Alternative experience!

Nicole Jamrose Band has been electrifying audiences since 2007 with their unique blend of rock, pop, and soul! With her outstanding and mutifaceted performing style, the band is fronted by lead singer Nicole Jamrose-Biter, who earned nationwide fame by taking third place during the 2006 season of the USA Network television show, “Nashville Star.”  Also in the spotlight, band members Mark Soljacich, Michael Young, Traci Braun, and Brian Smolar are more reasons this band is great! Nicole Jamrose Band can energize any crowd with pop, serenade a sweet love song, and everything in between. It’s a show that features a variety of songs and an atmosphere that makes you want to dance. A concert you don’t want to miss and will not forget!

Concert-goers may wish to bring a blanket or lawn chair. Bring a picnic basket or, also available at the music fest,  great food and refreshments may be purchased at Da Portable Rican food truck and So Good Island Grill, and a Wine/Beer tent by Clancy’s will also be on the premises.  For shade– or If rain threatens, bring an umbrella: concerts will be held in all but violent weather.
