Portage Indiana Summer Music Series Expands

Through collaboration with Portage Township Live Entertainment, Portage Chamber of Commerce and City of Portage Parks & Recreation Dept., the PORTAGE SUMMER MUSIC SERIES will be presented RAIN OR SHINE throughout JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST IN 2017 with a total of 26 CONCERTS performed at Portage’s WOODLAND PARK and FOUNDERS PARK.  All concerts are FREE to the public.

Thirteen concerts will be presented on consecutive TUESDAY EVENINGS from 6 pm to 7:30 pm starting June 6 inside Oakwood Hall at WOODLAND PARK, 2100 Willowcreek Road, throughout the summer. Seating is provided, a concession and a cash bar are available.

NEW THIS YEAR, an additional thirteen concerts will be presented on consecutive SUNDAY AFTERNOONS from 1 pm to 2 pm starting June 4 outdoors at FOUNDERS PARK on the Indiana-American Water Pavilion stage, at 6300 Central Avenue, throughout the summer.  Bring your blankets or lawn chairs and, in case of inclement weather, an umbrella.

Music at the two locations ranges from oldies to country/western, rock & roll, blues, and contemporary sounds, all featuring local talent. Concerts at Founders Park are made possible by the City of Portage Founders Fund, a 501(c)(3) fund held by Porter County Community Foundation, and by Indiana Dunes Tourism. Concerts at Woodland Park are made possible by grants from John W. Anderson Foundation and Porter County Community Foundation, and from donations by local residents and Portage Chamber business members.
