Porchlight Music Theatre’s “Billy Elliot” is Fabulous

**** Highly Recommended **** Porchlight Music Theatre opened their first season at the Ruth Page Center of the Arts with a fabulous production of “Billy Elliot the Musical”. Although “Billy Elliot” has the largest cast I’ve ever seen in a Porchlight production, Director Brenda Didier has found a way to keep it small and intimate. Gritty, profane, sometimes violent, but in the end triumphant, “Billy Elliot” gets 4 BIG Spotlights.

“Billy Elliot” runs through November 26th at the Ruth Page Center of the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn, Chicago. Valet parking is available as well as reduced rate parking in nearby garages. Running time is 2 hours, 30 minutes, with an intermission. Regular performances are Thursdays at 7:30 pm; Fridays at 8:00 pm; Saturdays at 4:00 and 8:00 pm; Sundays at 7:00 (November 12th & 19th) and 6:00 pm (October 29th, November 5th). There will be no 7:30 pm performance on Thursday, November 16th; instead, there will be a weekday matinee at 1:30 pm. The October 28th performance will be open captioned. Thanksgiving weekend, there will be added performances at 4:00 and 8:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, November 24th and 25th, and at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 26th. Tickets range from $33-$60.
