“Plantation!” is Funny but Uncomfortable

*** Recommended*** “Plantation!” was funny until it wasn’t. Although I laughed a lot at the absurd behavior of the Wright family, I also felt a twinge or two of discomfort. By the end of the play, I wasn’t laughing any more, having progressed to very uncomfortable. I guess I enjoyed “Plantation!” until I didn’t. 3 Spotlights

“Plantation!” runs through April 22nd at Lookingglass Theatre, located inside Chicago’s historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan at Pearson, Chicago. Discounted parking is now available at 3 locations: John Hancock Center Self Park; Olympia Centre Self Park; and Water Tower Place: get your parking ticket validated at the Box Office.

Running time is 90 minutes, no intermission.
• Performances are Wednesday through Sunday at 7:30 pm, with matinees at 2:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
• Additional performances: Tuesday, March 20th at 7:30 pm; Sundays, March 25th and April 22nd at 7:30 pm; Thursdays, March 15th, March 29th and April 12th at 2:00 pm.
• No performance Saturday, March 24th at 7:30 pm.
• Audio Described/Touch Tour performance, Thursday, March 22nd at 7:30 pm (Touch Tour begins at 6:00 pm).
