**** Recommended **** The Paramount Theatre production of “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” is huge and rather dystopian. “Sweeney Todd”, which reminded me of a steam-punk universe, plays out on platforms, in cages and on stairways going up three levels to the very top of the Paramount’s huge stage. Stephen Sondheim’s retelling of a London urban legend, featuring over-the-top characters, clever lyrics and soaring melodies, is a definite crowd favorite. 4 Spotlights
