**** Highly Recommended **** Although you might think Chicago Shakespeare Theatre would be stuffy and traditional in its approach to the Bard, you’d be wrong. Definitive proof – the Q Brothers’ brilliantly-written “Othello: The Remix” is back! “Othello: The Remix” is musical, creative, energetic, poetic and oh so much fun! You don’t need to understand (or even like) hip-hop music – or even Shakespeare. for that matter – to love it. “Othello: The Remix” is fresh, fun and original. I give it four Spotlights.
“Othello: The Remix” runs through May 8th at in the Upstairs Theatre at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre on Navy Pier. Running time is 85 minutes, no intermission. Performances are Wednesdays through Fridays at 7:30 pm; Saturdays at 3:00 and 8:00 pm; Sundays at 2:00 and 6:00 pm. Tickets range from $20 (under age 35) to $35 (over age 35).
