NwIndiana Annual Fight Breast Cancer Walk

The global pandemic has not stopped Community HealthNet Health Centers (CHN) in moving forward in its mission to provide affordable health services to the communities they serve! Part of this includes special events, and they are excited to announce that they will be hosting our 20th Anniversary Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Walk on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Marquette Park, 1 N. Grand Blvd. in Gary, Indiana in the beautiful Miller Beach Park! The walk will also take place virtually via Facebook live (facebook.com/chnbca5kw).

Whether you decide to walk in-person or virtually, registration can be completed at chn-indiana.org/bca5kw. On-site registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the walk begins at 10:00 a.m.

CHN welcomes you to partner with us to celebrate breast cancer survivors while continuing to raise awareness around this aggressive disease. With your online registration comes the distinct honor of becoming an official fundraiser for this event. You will have a personal website page to share details of our Breast Cancer Walk with your family, friends, business and professional networks. You can also create a “in-person” or a “virtual” walking team.

Registration is only $25, and proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit CHN’s patient-centered programs and services, which include healthcare coverage for our underinsured and uninsured consumers, mammogram testing, health screenings and other behavioral and medical services offered by CHN.

“According to the American Cancer Society, about 276,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in U.S. women in 2020 and about 42,170 women will die from breast cancer,” said Dr. Janet Seabrook, Founder and CEO of Community HealthNet Health Centers. “Early detection is important to the health of women, and community health centers can have an active role in making sure that these women have access to appropriate medical care and health care insurance.”

Please feel free to share, post, or update to social media the event to others…the more, the merrier! Thank you for your consideration in partnering with CHN to make the 20th Anniversary Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Walk 2020 the greatest yet!
