Northlight’s “Mothers & Sons” is Fraught with Angst!

**** Recommended **** Society has made a quantum leap in the 20 years since the AIDS epidemic was killing off some of our best and brightest young men.  Northlight Theatre’s production of “Mothers & Sons” examines that attitude change through the eyes of a mother who couldn’t accept her son or the reason for his death.  Given the wide acceptance of gay marriage – unheard of just 15 years ago – “Mothers & Sons” presents an interesting story fraught with all kinds of angst.  I give it 3 ½ Spotlights.

“Mothers and Sons” runs through February 27th at Northlight Theatre, North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, 9501 Skokie Blvd., Skokie.  Running time is 95 minutes, no intermission.  Performances are Wednesdays at 1:00 and 7:30 pm; Thursdays at 7:30; Fridays at 8:00; Saturdays at 2:30 and 8:00; and Sundays at 2:30 and 7:00.  Tickets range from $25-$79.  Parking is free.  FYI (847) 673-6300 or www.northlight.org.
