**** Recommended **** Society has made a quantum leap in the 20 years since the AIDS epidemic was killing off some of our best and brightest young men. Northlight Theatre’s production of “Mothers & Sons” examines that attitude change through the eyes of a mother who couldn’t accept her son or the reason for his death. Given the wide acceptance of gay marriage – unheard of just 15 years ago – “Mothers & Sons” presents an interesting story fraught with all kinds of angst. I give it 3 ½ Spotlights.
“Mothers and Sons” runs through February 27th at Northlight Theatre, North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, 9501 Skokie Blvd., Skokie. Running time is 95 minutes, no intermission.
