**** Highly Recommended **** There’s a new “Mary Poppins” in town and she’s “practically perfect”. Seriously, NightBlue Performing Arts Company has staged a charming production of “Mary Poppins”. This is a perfect show to introduce for your children and/or your grandchildren to live theater. “Mary Poppins” is a wonderful family-oriented musical. I give it 4 BIG Spotlights.
Theater-goers in Northwest Indiana will recognize Kyrie Anderson aka Mary Poppins. Just last year she appeared in the Towle Theater’s production of “Next Thing You Know”. She won the Hoosier Star competition in 2009, and she’s appeared in productions across the region. I remember I reviewed her 2011 performance as prostitute, Lucy Harris, in “Jekyll & Hyde” at Memorial Opera House, Valparaiso, as stellar.
NightBlue’s production of “Mary Poppins” runs through March 27th at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave., Chicago. Running time is 2 hours, 25 minutes with an intermission.
